Whether it's a flight in a Vietnam-era Huey or Cobra helicopter, a World War II B-25 Mitchell bomber, or a sightseeing flight around the area in a general aviation airplane, purchasing a flight high above Somerset and the Lake Cumberland area will make for an exciting and memorable experience! Rides will begin at 10am, and continue until the flying display start at 1pm. Rides will resume around 3pm, and continue until the end of the event. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot!

Kilroy Aviation is proud to offer airplane rides during the Lake Cumberland Air Show. Take flight in one of their flight training airplanes for a flight around Somerset and Lake Cumberland. Their Grumman Cheetah aircraft can accommodate up to 3 passengers* and provides for a 15 minute flight experience allowing you to see Lake Cumberland from the air as well as the local marinas. Tickets can be purchased on-site by visiting the Kilroy Aviation booth at the show for $30/person.

Sit in the gunners seat and fly in the Bell AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter at this year's Lake Cumberland Air Show. Serving as the backbone to the U.S. Army's attack helicopter fleet for decades, the Cobra was specifically designed to be an agile and lethal platform capable of providing close air support to ground troops. Known for it's distinctive tandem cockpit configuration, during wartime the Cobra was equippedwith a 20mm cannon and could carry a variety of rockets, missiles, and gun pods. Cobra rides are $800/person.

Fly aboard the most iconic helicopter of the Vietnam War, the venerable UH-1 Huey. Designed by Bell in the late 1950s, the Huey revolutionized military helicopter operations with its versatility, reliability, and adaptability. It served in a variety of roles including troop transport, medical evacuation, and as gunships providing close air support. It's distinctive "chop-chop" sound and rugged design, the UH-1 became synonymous in both military and civilian aviation contexts worldwide. Huey rides are $125/person.

Known as Champaign Gal, this immaculately restored B-25 was built in 1944 and will be providing Living History Flight Experiences (LHFP) at the show, allowing you to take the bombardier or even the waist gunner's position!
